QUITTOFOSS PK contains together Potassium and Phosphorus, it appears as one of the most interesting tools from the point of view of the elicitation of the SAR mechanism (Systemic Acquired Resistance), on the one hand the Chitosan (poly-D-glucosamine) produces an effect immunostimulant that induces the activation of plant tissue defense mechanisms against different types of diseases, in what is known as elicitation of the immune system of the plant, that is, production of defense substances and anti-stress proteins.

Now, the particularity of Chitosan is that it does not have a great systemic effect on the plant but a great residuality. Then the elicitation of the SAR occurs rather from the outside towards the interior of the plant and with a very lasting effect. On the other hand, Potassium, has a great systemic effect on the plant, running through the phloemic torrent almost immediately, but with a smaller number of residues. In sum, the action of Potassium and Chitosan potentiates the activation of the plant’s immune system and biostimulates its growth.
